I'm a descendant of the Szymanski Family who lived near Gdansk for centuries. Our family fled to America for a better life and escaped both World Wars and the eventual Nazi regime to find a home in Nebraska. Like many Polish people born in America, I know very little about how my family and ancestors lived, struggled and journeyed to the new world.

 

My mission is to fulfill a lifelong dream of traveling back to the Motherland and find my roots, documenting each step of the way. Hopefully, I will leave a legacy that will encourage other Polish people to find their family roots and pass them on. This journey will be shown as a documentary including my family and Polish people who traveled to Nebraska during that time.
